NIAS UAA Indigenous Talent ID Day 2023 hailed a success!

The Northern Inland’s aspiring indigenous athletes headed to Moree last week, to attend the Northern Inland Academy of Sport’s UAA Indigenous Talent Identification Day in the hopes of joining the academy and accessing greater opportunities in sport.

Northern Inland Academy of Sport announces change to future operations of Football Club (NIAS FC) after independent review

The Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) Board announced today that from 2025 there will be a change to the operation of NIAS FC, a football club program operated by NIAS since 2021. This announcement has been made following the organisation’s Strategic Review in 2022 which recommended an independent review of NIAS FC operations, which then recommended the club’s transition to community ownership from 2025 and beyond.

Aspiring Triathlon athletes encouraged to apply for academy opportunity

Applications are now open for aspiring young triathlon athletes interested trailing for the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) 2023-24 Triathlon Program. By registering their interest online via www.nias.org.au athletes could take their first step to becoming the next Australian Triathlete, with NIAS providing the opportunity for athletes to move along the Triathlon New South Wales pathway

Regional NSW athletes on highway to Olympics via Pursu32+ 

The New South Wales Institute of Sport in partnership with the Regional Academies of Sport have launched a high performance talent pathway program for athletes from country NSW. The program connects both targeted regional athletes and their coaches to high performance expertise and provides opportunities to develop their success in Olympic sports.

NIAS to host UAA Talent ID Day for aspiring indigenous athletes

Registrations now open for aspiring young indigenous athletes, aged 13-16 years who live within the Northern Inland, to participate in the annual NIAS and UAA Indigenous Talent Identification Day. All indigenous athletes, showing talent in any sport, are strongly encouraged to register their interest via www.nias.org.au.

Martin Rae immerses himself in his role as the new Technical Director at NIAS

Since touching down in Tamworth on Friday, Scottish native Martin Rae has been soaking up the local soccer scene. After heading down to the Gipps Street Fields on Saturday, The new NIAS Technical Director watched the NIAS FC 13s, 14s and 15s take on South Cardiff in the their opening Premier Youth League Cup games on Sunday. Then Tuesday night was training with the NIAS FC squads.
