NIAS and HealthWISE: Paving the path to Olympic success for local youth
NIAS is thrilled to announce the launch of the Active Champions Fund, a new partnership with HealthWISE, an organisation that shares our commitment to fostering a healthier community and investing in the region’s sporting talent.
Through a generous contribution from the HealthWISE board, we will be providing 5 young athletes reflective of the 5 Olympic rings, with an opportunity to secure a scholarship. Each athlete will receive $2,000 to help them reach their chosen sport included in the 2032 Olympic Games.
“In perfect alignment with our shared vision, we are launching this partnership during the Olympic Games on the Australian Olympic Committee’s designated ‘Green and Gold Day’, Friday, August 2nd. This day is a celebration of our Olympians participating in the Paris Olympics, including NIAS alum and 2014 Athlete of the Year, Hockeyroo Alice Arnott.
There are many talented athletes in our region like Alice, but for many families, the financial commitment required to pursue these dreams can be prohibitive. Through the Healthwise-NIAS partnership, we aim to make a real difference by providing much-needed support and resources to our future Olympians from the Northern Inland region.
Through a generous contribution from the HealthWISE board, we will be providing 5 talented young athletes, with an opportunity to secure a scholarship. We are immensely grateful to Healthwise and its dedicated staff for their generous support and belief in our mission,” Shona Eichorn, NIAS CEO.
Are you an aspiring, talented athlete from the Northern Inland region? Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to receive support and take your talents to the next level. Applications open from the 16 August 2024.
