Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) is proud to present the inaugural NIAS International Women’s Day afternoon high tea event – Girls & Goalposts, thanks to our platinum partners, Regional Australia Bank and the NSW Government Storm and Flood Industry Recovery Grant (SFIRP).
Bringing together incredible, inspirational women from all areas of sport, NIAS aims to celebrate this important day whilst also starting the campaign to build a NIAS “Girls in Sport” bursary fund to help promote, develop and support young talented women pursuing goals in sport across our region.
Join us for an afternoon high tea at Tamworth Jockey Club on Thursday 7 March 2024 from 4pm to 6pm to hear from brilliant speakers across a range of sporting endeavours:
- Eloise Sohier (MC, Journalist and Presenter on Fox Sports, marathon runner – formerly Prime7 Tamworth journalist)
- Kezie Apps (NRLW Player for Wests Tigers, NSW Dairy Ambassador
- Dr Rachel Horton (International Rugby Referee and Principal of The Armidale School)
- With one more VERY exciting speaker to be announced soon
The focus of the event will be on planning for future careers in sport, current goals, challenges and ways to ensure girls in sport have access to pathways an incredibly successful futures – on and off the field. There will be a panel event, followed by the opportunity to ask the panellist questions in a Q&A.
There will be lucky door prizes and a small raffle to help “kick start” the NIAS Girls in Sport fund.
