NIAS Induction Day Kicks Off a Successful Start to the 2024-2025 Season

The NIAS Induction Day, held on Sunday, 10 November at Lake Keepit, marked the beginning of an exciting new season for the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS).

The event brought together athletes, coaches, and families from across the region to celebrate the induction of the next cohort of aspiring young athletes.

The day was a resounding success, filled with insightful presentations, skill development sessions, and holistic learning opportunities designed to prepare athletes for the year ahead. Supported by major partner Whitehaven Coal, the event emphasised the critical role of collaboration in creating pathways for regional athletes.

NIAS CEO Shona Eichorn highlighted the importance of this induction, not only as a starting point for skill enhancement but also as a journey of personal growth and community contribution.

Participants engaged in a diverse range of activities throughout the day, from fitness assessments and sport psychology sessions to discussions on nutrition and athlete wellbeing.

Parents and coaches were also actively involved, with dedicated sessions on safeguarding and athlete support, making it an informative day for all attendees.

As the season unfolds, NIAS remains committed to supporting its athletes’ development, both on and off the field.
