NIAS Mountain Bikers compete at local competition

Our mountain bikers in the Cycling squad were riding in the sunshine on Sunday as they competed in the COVID Buster 3 hour race hosted at the Tamworth Mountain Bike Park on Sunday 6th September. The aim of the competition was for riders to complete as many laps as possible on either the 'Roll'n Roll'n Roll'n trail or the Fast & Furious Trail.

NIAS' Campbell Walsh, Jock Hollis and Jack Larkin along with NIAS alumnus Luke Deasey all competed in the Fast and Furious Junior male race. Some of our athletes got together to compete in teams as we had two teams representing NIAS in the Fast & Furious Junior male pairs and one team representing NIAS in the Roll'n Roll'n Roll'n Junior female and male pairs categories.

Ex NIAS athlete and NIAS Mountain Biking winner of athlete of the year in 2018 Isla Maidment, also competed in the competition in the Fast & Furious Junior female category.

Also competing on the day were coaches Michael Crummy and Alyssa Rogan with both coaches riding in the Fast and Furious category.
