NIAS Partner profile: healthwise
How long has your organisation supported NIAS?
HealthWISE proudly partnered with NIAS in 2024.
What inspired you to become a NIAS Partner?
Engaging in physical activity is one of the most effective ways to enhance health. It helps prevent chronic diseases, alleviates symptoms of depression and anxiety, and boosts cognitive functions. NIAS shares our commitment to supporting rural and remote communities.
Why is supporting regional communities and rural athletes important to you?
HealthWISE developed the Active Champions Fund as part of our gift fund, an initiative of the HealthWISE board which has backed a variety of community activities promoting health and wellbeing since 2018. NIAS helps young athletes overcome the disadvantages of living rurally by ensuring access to quality coaching regularly. The Active Champions Fund will support scholarship recipients with travel and accommodation to access this coaching. We believe that supporting regional athletes on their journey will help inspire others to live an active lifestyle, no matter what their circumstances are.
What are your partnership hopes / goals moving forward?
We hope to continue creating opportunities for young athletes to grow and inspire others and work with NIAS to build healthier and stronger communities.
Can you share one special NIAS memory or moment?
Our launch event on green and gold day was very special, bringing together athletes, parents and sport enthusiasts and listening to the inspirational journey of Paralympian Katie Kelly.
Anything else you would like to add?
We are delighted to collaborate with an organisation that aligns so well with our values and vision.
